It seems like you have this health and wellness thing under control, but you're most likely wanting better sleep and better recovery after exercise. Well we can help, and we can also keep you active and boost your energy levels where possible.
We’ve got your back, your shoulders, your knees… Keeping moving is one of the most important things you can do for your health and wellbeing. That's why we’ve gathered our tips from our experts and products to help you understand why looking after your joint, bones and muscle health is key to maintaining your fitness, along with better ways to sleep.
World Champion Dancer, qualified Personal Trainer and TV personality Karen Hauer is a leading voice in fitness, wellness and self-care. Karen lives a very active lifestyle but also knows the power of rest for recovery. Her favourite way to stay active during any downtime is by taking long walks with her dogs and her best way to unwind at the end of a long day is to add magnesium salts to the bath before bed!
Karen has partnered with Holland & Barrett to share her knowledge and encourage you to take good care of your joints, bones and muscles.
We’ve put together a 30-day movement calendar, with the help of Karen Hauer and a stamp of approval from The British Society Lifestyle Medicine, just for you, to help you think outside the box when it comes to exercise. We already know how much you love going to gym and staying busy, so we've added challenges you can try if you fancy something different, such as turning your 10,000 steps into 20,000 or a 15-minute meditation session before bed to help you get some shut eye.
Once you've completed this challenge, you could book a 15-minute conversation with one of our experts to check in on your joints, bones and muscles.
We’ve got over 150 years of expertise behind us – and we’re continually growing, thanks to specialists like our Digital Health Lead, Fiona Sweny.
Fiona has highlighted burpees as her favourite exercise from the 30-day challenge. She says, "Burpees consist of two main parts, a press up followed by a leap in the air and they can be tiring! If you're new to high intensity exercise, it’s best to talk to your healthcare provider first to make sure that it’s safe for you to do burpees, but for those of you who are already active, you can give them a go straight away."
As a former Army Officer and a qualified physiotherapist, Fiona really knows her stuff when it comes to getting set for more movement. Her career as a physiotherapist includes working for England Rugby and The Royal Ballet School.
Our team of experts know there’s no one-size-fits-all for joint, bone, and muscle support. It has to work for you – that’s why our experts are on hand online and in-store to find a solution that slots into your day.
Meet Alex, he specialises in metabolism, diet and ageing, and the gut microbiome. Due to his extensive knowledge, Alex plays a key role in developing premium vitamin and mineral supplements here at H&B.
