This vivid spirulina smoothie bowl tastes as vibrant as it looks, thanks to a mix of banana, mango, pineapple and spirulina.
The smoothie bowl starts its life as chunks of frozen fruit but when they are blended together you get a thick, creamy consistency a bit like ice cream or sorbet. Unlike ice cream, it’s good for you!
This spirulina smoothie recipe is the perfect way to use spirulina powder in what is otherwise a fun and fruity breakfast, which really sets you up for the day.
If you’re wondering how to use Naturya spirulina powder in a smoothie recipe, you’ll be pleased to know it’s super simple.
450g mango, cut into chunks and frozen
250g pineapple, frozen
2 bananas, cut into chunks and frozen
½ tsp Naturya spirulina powder
250ml coconut milk (or another plant-based milk)
1 tbsp Naturya superberries
(Optional) fresh fruit

In a high-powered blender, blend* the ingredients until smooth.
2
Serve with your favourite toppings, including Naturya superberries.
Spirulina powder is known as a superfood as it is rich in protein, minerals, carotenoids, and antioxidants.
It is also packed full of vitamins like B vitamins which help to support energy levels and your immune system. B vitamins are also known to maintain healthy metabolism.
Spirulina doesn’t necessarily alter the flavour of the smoothie bowl, but does bring with it lots of benefits.
In terms of flavour, it can be a tiny bit bitter - this just creates balance when it’s blended up with the rest of the sweet fruits.
This smoothie bowl has a really tropical, fruity taste with a hint of coconut. Top with more fresh fruit like raspberries, blueberries and more.
A sprinkling of Naturya superberries adds some welcome crunch. Every spoonful tastes like summer.
We think this spirulina smoothie bowl is about to be your new go-to for breakfast.

"This is one of the many “Superfoods” which can give many health benefits if included in your diet. It is sourced from Algae and then dried or freeze-dried which creates the powder which is one of the most common ways to consume it.
Spirulina is a great source of B1 & B2 that can support energy levels and reduce fatigue which means you can get back to exercising in no time!"
