    How to get “unready”

You might have heard about #getreadywithme, which helps with your morning beauty routine, but what about a routine that covers nighttime?… It’s cleanse, tone and moisturise, but not as you know it

    Raising the bar

Skincare may have come on leaps and bounds since the days of the humble bar of soap, but the nostalgic beauty must-have is making a comeback thanks to our increasing interest in natural ingredients.

Gone are the days of dried-up bars or mushy sink-side remnants as the new and improved cleansers are triple-milled, giving them a sturdier shape.

Boasting a bevy of high-quality ingredients such as shea, lanolin and royal jelly, the soap’s once drying nature has now become a thing of the past. Not only do they last longer than their liquid counterparts, they only include the necessary ingredients – sometimes the simplest things are the best.

    The rolling stones

They may have been around for years, but the ever-effective jade roller is having a renaissance thanks to the focus on introducing more natural elements to our beauty regime.

A jade roller is an easy addition to your nightly routine. It’s amazing for increasing blood circulation, assisting lymphatic drainage, and helping reduce fine lines. You can use it after cleansing on its own, or with your face oil or serum – keep it in the fridge and the cold will help de-puff your face and eye area.

Getting to the root of it

While we dig into our clean beauty arsenal, we often overlook our hair in our nightly skincare routine.

Scalp health is in the spotlight right now, with the launch of scalp exfoliators and moisturisers. Massage coconut oil into your scalp each week to help nourish hair, and wear a silk hair turban at night to boost hair growth and shine (silk allows hair to move more freely than if you were sleeping on a cotton pillowcase).

    Super slick

When you think of argan oil what springs to mind? Soft, bouncy hair? A mirror-like shine, perhaps? While we slather the hero product on our tresses, the latest way to use the oil is on our face. It’s been used for centuries on the skin as it’s a great anti-ageing tonic, and it’s packed with essential antioxidants, vitamin E, linoleic acids, and essential omega fatty acids.

    Eye spy

When it comes to ageing, the eyes have it. As the thinnest skin on our face, they’re the first to give us away – from late nights to an overly salty meal, you can bet your eye cream that you’ll see it all under your peepers. But before you reach for your trusty eye elixir, you may want to consider its lighter equivalent.

Eye gels and serums are best for battling puffiness and dark circles, whereas creams are hydrating and good for softening wrinkles. They work well together – use a cream in the day and a gel at night, as creams generally cause more puffiness at night, whereas gels are formulated with non-oily ingredients that are suspended in water so won’t weigh down that delicate area with heavy fats.
