    Oh So August’s sugar free date and banana flapjack

    The perfect snack for kicking a sweet craving.

    Makes 10

    Nutrients per serving:

    Ingredients

    • 80ml vegetable oil
    • 180g oats *
    • 175g medjool dates * (chopped)
    • 2 bananas sliced
    • 50g sunflower seeds *
    • 50g sultanas *
    • 1 tsp vanilla essence
    • 1 tpn cinnamon * (optional)

    Method

    Step 1
    Pre-heat your oven to 175C.
    Step 2
    Mash the bananas in a large bowl.
    Step 3
    Add the dates and oil to the bananas and mix together.
    Step 4
    Stir in the oats, vanilla essence, sunflower seeds and sultanas. Leave to stand for 5 minutes, so the oats absorb the oil.
    Step 5
    Line a baking tray with grease-proof paper, and spoon in the mixture.
    Step 6
    Bake at 175C for about 25-30 minutes.
    Step 7
    Leave it to cool for 10 minutes on a wire rack before cutting into squares.
    Step 8
    Enjoy
    – guilt free!
