Egmont’s MGO 700+ honey, is a mono-floral Manuka. ‘Mono’ floral indicates that the honey is produced entirely from nectar of the Manuka Bush, a flora native to New Zealand. Mono-floral Manuka’s often have a higher MGO rating, due to their purity. Egmont’s hives are situated in remote parts of the Taranaki forest, where our bee’s live un-disturbed and free to roam. This results in some of the purest and cleanest forms of Manuka honey. Manuka has been used by New Zealand’s indigenous people for thousands of years, for its wellness benefits and of course, delicious taste. The same is still true today, with Manuka making a great addition to any supplement regime. All of Egmont’s honey goes through rigorous testing protocols, to ensure its quality and to determine the level of methylglyoxal (MGO) in a batch. The level of MGO determines the grade and potency of the Manuka honey. Therefore, you can rest assured that when we say our honey is high quality, it's nothing less.
